2021 done. Hope you all had a wonderful festive period. Thank you all for your continued support to your amazing association; your efforts of these past couple of years has put the BFA in a really strong position to launch into an awesome 2022. This is the year flyballers! so much to look forward to and be positive about. 3 months free membership for a start, please don't renew until you see details posted some time in February.

As we start to wind down into our winter flyball routines, now is probably a good time to both reflect on what was a challenging and covid-shortened season of flyball, as well as look ahead to the opportunities that lie ahead of us for 2022 and beyond. To help us do this together, as a community of flyballers, the commiteee have arranged for an online 'Town Hall' style zoom webinar on November 6. We would love to hear your views but you will need to pre-register to join us on the day.

2 major events done. Who'd have thought what we have just achieved was at all possible even just a few short months ago. There's not many organisations that could have done what the BFA has just delivered - and all done on a volunteer basis, so you all, members and officials, should be justly proud of yourselves and our amazing association; the strength of character, commitment and community is simply incredible and we now have an amazing platform on which to launch an even more impressive flyball comeback in 2022, and I for one just cannot wait.

6 months ago we really didn't know whether there was any possibility of a summer celebration of flyball but we pressed ahead with planning and preparations anyway, knowing full well it could all of been in vain; but here we are, on the eve of the biggest flyball event in Europe this year, vaccines are rolling ahead, covid is in retreat, and the sun is out (occassionally!), and it is such an exciting feeling. It has been an amazing achievement from a small bunch of incredibly dedicated, hard working, and innovative people and I'm so proud to be working with them.

Another week of prep for the BFA Festivals done and these innovative events are really starting to take shape now. The availability of Flyball Foundations and non-sanctioned divisions gives every single member the opporutnity to take take part reagrdless of what stage on the recovery out of covid you are on; still a couple of days to get your entries in if you haven't already done so. Live entertainment, camping, fun activites and flyball from foundation to sub-15 racing, and all generously supported by our new sponsor Akela. 

With special thanks to Wicked, Funky Fidos, Carry Ons and all the competing teams, that's another weekend of amazingly well organised shows under our belt and another step on our return to flyball journey together; it really is starting to feel like we're finally getting somewhere. Under unusual circumstances and social distancing challenges, the strength and unity of our flyball community has shone through over the past couple of weekends and it's been a pleasure to be a part of it.

The return to 'normal' flyball has been delayed by a few weeks, 2 at least, and probably until 19 July. On the positive side though Tournament Organisers and the Committee have been looking at how flyball activities can be adapted whilst still complying with social distancing so if we all appply some common sense and look after each other we can still take another step forward in getting back to the sport we love.
