Dear BFA Members

Please ignore the rules posted last night. Unfortunately a clerical error has occurred meaning the incorrect version was updated with the new rules.
The revised rules will be issues again shortly and, following some confusion noted on the social network site; Facebook, it is intended to also issue an explanatory note with the rationale behind the January 2014 changes.

This is quite an arduous task for the committee member carrying our the corrections, please be supportive as the work continues on behalf of the association. The new correct version will be posted again here as soon as is possible.

Kind regards

To the BFA Membership,
As you are aware we have had a few days of hard work for some of our officials overcoming the technical glitch that had sabotaged the issuing of the January 2014 rules.
As promised in my recent announcement the information below will point you to the changes that have been introduced from this annual review. As you will see the most are a clarification, however there is also a change that has been bought in to ensure safety for those that box load.
Please read the explanation below which will refer you to those changes introduced.
I will be issuing copies of the rules to officials over the next two days. If you are a Team Captain, Head Judge, Qualified Judge, Measuring Official or Regional Representative, and haven’t received your copy of the rules with the changes highlighted by Monday 23 December please contact me jocrosswellk9bfa@gmail.com , it may be that we do not hold your correct email details as on occasions there are some emails which do not get delivered successfully.
Kind Regards
Jo Crosswell
BFA Secretary
Explanation of 2014 rule changes;

• 4.1.(f) & (h) further clarifies the treatment of electronic entries and payment methods.
• 4.1.(j) adds that faster times as well as slower times should be detailed on the published running order

• 4.4 is a clarification of the rule for a Tournament Organiser accepting entry from a ‘scratch team’.
• 5.2(e) is a clarification of the membership status of the handler of the dog being raced.
• 5.6(c) is a clarification of the dog measuring process
• 5.6(h) is a clarification of the role of the Line Judge
• 5.6 The Box Judge role has been reworded with the addition of a visual signal to the other judges to assist in the identification od a box malfunction (see also 5.17(e))
• 5.7 is a clarification of the timesheet entries and the number of members and dogs representing each team
• 5.12 specifies that the slats (not the baseboard) will be clearly labelled with their size
• 5.13(b) cross refers to rule 4.3, and confirms that underlay is not required when ‘Tuff Spun’® is used
